       Alsonia scholaris-saton                  Alstonia scholaris is  evergreen fast -growing tree,that grows upto 40 m tall. Bark is grayish brown, rough  lenticellate abounding bitter in taste secreting white milky latex. Branches are lentocellate,the bark is almost odorless and it is  very bitter. Leaves are simple,whorled,usually 7 in a whorl and dark green. The upper side of the leaves are glossy while the underside is grayish in colour.
