       Andrographis Paniculata-Kirayte



Andrographis Paniculata is an erect annual herb extremely bitter in taste in all parts of the plant body. It is one of most bitter plant that are used in earlier as medicine. Since it is using as for medicinal purpose. It is found in all over the Goa as well as out of  the Goa also it is available.

Andrographis having much branches herb, stem and branches sharply four angled. Leaves are simple,opposite,short petioled, glabrous, elliptic to lanceolate, narrowed at both ends. Flowers small ,white with purplish blotches

Uses :
  • Decoction of plant used for all types of fever,skin diseases ,acidity. 
  • It is an excellent medicine for stomach and liver ailments.
  • It is very effective treatment of digestive problems.
  • Roots and leaves used as a febrifuge, cholagogue and anti-helminthic.
  • It is used for preventing and treating  common cold and flu. 
  • It is also use for preventing heart diseases and diabetes.
